Kagoshima Asia-Pacific Intercultural Centre Japanese Culture & Language Programme for Overseas Students

Time and Duration: 10 days in June
No. of Places: 20 students
Location:
Students will live at the Asia-Pacific Intercultural Centre in Kagoshima prefecture. The centre is located in a beautiful quiet valley surrounded by hills on three sides and facing a lake to the south. It has excellent facilities and all rooms have their own bathroom. The nearby city of Kanoya (a small provincial town) is about a half-hour bus ride away (services are infrequent though). A trip to the prefectural capital of Kagoshima requires a two-hour bus ride and a twenty-minute ferry ride. It is a little too far away for a day trip on your own.
Activities:
You will attend the Centre’s Japanese Language and Japanese Culture course. This is an intensive (full day) course that also incorporates some exchange activities arranged in conjunction with the local community. These include visits to local families and an overnight homestay, as well as a meeting with local university students.
